Wednesday starts the NHL playoffs – one of my favorites times of the year. Many teams are trying to turn on their best games like the Chicago Blackhawks did just 12 months ago. Here are my predictions for the 2016 NHL post season.
Capitals vs Flyers
The Capitals are trying to shake their post season success drought, and I think they do it in this series. Capitals win this easy.
Penguin vs Rangers
The Rangers always find post season success, and I don’t see this being any different. Enjoy the Pittsburgh New York series – the Rangers are taking this home.
Panthers vs Islanders
Florida isn’t really known for their hockey, but I think this is the year that the Panthers finally advance. Look for this to be close, but I think the Panthers edge.
Tampa Bay vs Detroit
The Lightning are a good team. They’ll beat the Red Wings.
Dallas vs Minnesota
The Stars had a great season, and I think they advance against the Wild.
St. Louis vs Chicago
The defending champs take this to seven and win in St. Louis. How’s that for always ending the Blues season?
Anaheim vs Nashville
The Ducks will prevail on this one. They have such a good team, and I believe they figure out this high scoring offense that the Predators have.
Los Angeles vs San Jose
You could argue that San Jose is just a shade worse than the Washington Capitals in post season ‘success’. I think the Kings easily advance here.
Stay tuned for our Round Two predictions!
